Events
School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school event may include:

- Harmony Week and Book Week events

- performances, concerts or school productions

Here are some of our highlights from the past year.
Stage 3 Archie's Art Exhibition for 2026
LPS hosted its own version of the Archibald Art Prize, where Stage 3 students demonstrated their artistic talents by creating portraits of individuals who inspire them, using a variety of mediums. The event culminated in an exhibition held during the day for students and in the evening for parents. With talented Stage 3 musicians providing beautiful background music, it was a truly magnificent night for everyone.

Education Day/Grandparents and Friends Day Celebration 2026
It was wonderful to see over 600 visitors in our school to acknowledge the importance of education in children’s lives. Many visitors shared their own histories as alumni of LPS or their connections over the years. Our students enjoyed displaying their work, interviewing their visitors, sharing their artwork and classroom displays and the K-2 portraits.

"It is an honour to stand before you as we gather to celebrate Public Education Week. This week gives us the chance to reflect on the power and importance of education in shaping minds, building futures and strengthening our community.
Our theme this year, ‘Inspiring Excellence’, speaks to the very core of what education represents. Excellence is not limited to high grades or impressive test scores. Instead, it’s about fostering an environment where curiosity is encouraged, every individual can discover their strengths and both teachers and students are supported to reach their full potential.
Our educators are the heartbeat of our schools. Teachers, support staff and leaders strive to create welcoming, dynamic spaces where students feel safe, supported and inspired. From adapting new technologies, to designing engaging lessons, to supporting wellbeing and inclusion, our staff continually go above and beyond. Their dedication ensures students not only learn but grow as individuals.
Education Week also highlights the vital role families and the wider community play in inspiring excellence. Parents and carers encourage and nurture learning at home. Together, we build a network that supports every child, reminding them that their aspirations matter.
